CROSSROADS
The “Close Up” series is literally built from compartments within frames, nestled among extensive texts and containing drawing, painting, and the plaster-casts of disarticulated sex parts. These three-dimensional wonder-cabinets function both metaphorically and literally as current stocktaking. It is about cleaning house,taking inventory of the past - every component and layer documented and analyzed, the better to make sense of it as a whole. Confronting a personal metamorphosis in isolated segments, dissecting them, having conversations with them allows for a conscious reassembly to contain everything that has come before and still leave room for what will come after.
